KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor received a courtesy call from the newly appointed Fifth Infantry Division Commander, Major General Shamsor Haji Jaafar, at Menara Kinabalu here today.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on current security matters and discussed issues concerning the Fifth Infantry Division, which is headquartered at Lok Kawi Camp.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to maintaining close cooperation with the Malaysian Armed Forces to ensure Sabah’s continued peace and stability.
Major General Shamsor officially assumed command of the Fifth Infantry Division on January 30, taking over from Major General Datuk Noorrul Azril Ariffin.
He was accompanied by Staff Officer Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Zurairi Muda and Captain Ameer Ashraf Masudi during the courtesy visit.
The meeting reflected the strong working relationship between the State Government and the Armed Forces in safeguarding security and supporting development efforts in Sabah.
